I’ve also desided to attend the “Next Designer Contest”.
It will run for the whole month of September, and our first assignment was:
“Your Round 1 Challenge is to create a mini kit using the same palette, kit name and theme, as well as the same paper & element limitations.
Theme: Last days of summer
Name: Summer Harvest
Palette:
Use the above color palette & theme to create a mini-kit. You may add black & white if needed, you may add 1 metal of your choice.
Your mini-kit must include exactly 3 papers and 6 elements. You must include at least one clustered element. All of your papers and elements must be created at 300 dpi. The only file types accepted are jpg and png. Your preview must be 600X600px, 72dpi, and a jpg file. Your preview must include all papers, elements, kit name and your new Designer “name”.
All of your designs are expected to meet theStudio Quality Standards:
You may use commercial use/designer resource products in the creation of your mini-kit. You may use more than one photo-editing/vector program to create your kit.
Please do not break any copyright laws in this competition–you will be disqualified if you do. You must state all of the software programs you used in your terms of use. You must also state what commercial products you used in your terms of use and give credit to the originalDesigner.
All previews must be posted in the Annual Next Designer Contest Gallery: NDC Round 1: 01SEP – 04SEP 2010. Please post your download links there as well. You may use any outside host including 4shared/rapidshare/boxnet etc. You must use ZIP files only. Do not use RAR. You may blog all you like about the contest, however, you may not reveal your contestant identity.
Voting will be done by registered Studio users, however please note that you may be disqualified by theStudio for breaking any rules. Please, please, please be careful. Ask if you are unsure, we are more than happy to help you.
Round 1 kit will be due September 4, 2010 by 3:00 pm EST.
Round 1 voting will go up after all kits are submitted.
Round 1 results will be posted September 6, 2009 by 3:00 am EST.
I have worked to make these rules as clear and easy to understand as possible. However, if you have any questions please post here or PM me. I will take all questions and create a separate FAQ for everyone to benefit from (I will leave your name off).
Good luck!”
The funny part is that we have to post our minis under a secret identity, and therefor I’m not allowed to advertise for it here. But you may follow this competition here: NDC
